Ultra Narrow COB LED Strip Light in 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm Widths
Continuous COB Lighting for Tight Channels and Detailed Installations
Our ultra narrow COB LED strip light fits where a standard 8 mm or 10 mm strip cannot. With 3 mm, 4 mm, and 5 mm PCB options, it brings a smooth, continuous line of light to miniature profiles, cabinet edges, and compact fixtures.
Each strip uses high-density COB construction at 480 chips/m and keeps CRI above 90. That gives you accurate color and an even linear effect, even in very small spaces. The range covers DC 5 V, 12 V, and 24 V input, so you can match the strip to furniture systems, retail fixtures, or compact electronic assemblies.
Available Models
| PCB Width | LED Density | Voltage | Power | Efficacy | Typical Cut Length |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 mm | 480 chips/m | DC 5 / 12 / 24 V | 5 W/m | 60–90 lm/W | 12.5–25 mm |
| 4 mm | 480 chips/m | DC 12 / 24 V | 6 W/m | 80–90 lm/W | 25 / 50 mm |
| 5 mm | 480 chips/m | DC 12 / 24 V | 7 W/m | 80–90 lm/W | 25 / 50 mm |
- Color rendering: CRI > 90
- Color temperatures: Multiple white options available. Confirm availability for your selected width and voltage.
- Cut length depends on the selected voltage. The 5 V option is offered on selected 3 mm configurations only. Confirm the exact cut length and voltage before ordering.
Key Benefits
3 mm, 4 mm, and 5 mm Widths
Fit narrow channels, miniature profiles, and shallow grooves where wider strips will not go. Three slim widths give you room to light tight details cleanly.
Continuous COB Light Line
The 480 chips/m layout produces a smooth, uniform line without visible hot spots in most diffused profiles. The result looks clean along the full length of the run.
CRI 90+ Color Rendering
Products, wood finishes, and fabrics look true to life in display cases and furniture. Accurate color helps materials and merchandise show at their best.
DC 5 V, 12 V, and 24 V Options
Choose 5 V for compact or battery-powered builds, 12 V for short furniture runs, and 24 V for longer installations. Match the input to your power system and run length.
Low Power per Meter
At 5–7 W/m, the strips run cooler and suit enclosed cabinets and tight spaces. Lower power also keeps power-supply sizing simple for small projects.
Short Cut Intervals
Cut points from 12.5 mm on the 3 mm version allow precise lengths for small fixtures and detailed work. Confirm the cut length for your selected voltage before ordering.
Flexible PCB
The flexible circuit board follows curved edges, rounded shelves, and contoured furniture details. You can light shapes that rigid fixtures cannot reach.
Easy Integration into OEM Products
Slim dimensions help furniture makers, display builders, and fixture manufacturers add lighting without redesigning parts. Integration stays simple from prototype to production.
Typical Applications
- Narrow aluminum channels and miniature linear profiles
- Display cabinets, showcases, and jewelry cases
- Retail shelves and merchandise fixtures
- Furniture edges, headboards, and wardrobes
- Kitchen cabinet details and drawer lighting
- Signage details and compact decorative lines
- Architectural models and miniature displays
Best for: Projects that need a slim, continuous light source in very limited space, with good color quality.
Not intended for: High-output general or main lighting. For higher lumen output, see our 8 mm and 10 mm COB LED strip series, including the High Efficacy COB LED Strip.
How to Select the Correct Model
Step 1: Measure the Internal Channel Width
Measure the inside width of the profile, not the outer size. Leave room for connectors, solder joints, cable exits, and any bends.
Choose the 3 mm version when:
- The channel or groove is extremely narrow
- The project needs a 5 V input
- Short cut lengths are needed for small fixtures or models
Choose the 4 mm version when:
- You need a balance between slim size and output
- The profile accepts 4 mm but not 5 mm
- The application is furniture detailing or cabinet edge lighting
Choose the 5 mm version when:
- You want the highest output in the ultra narrow range
- The profile can take a 5 mm strip
- The strip lights shelves, showcases, or retail fixtures
Step 2: Select the Voltage
Match the input voltage to your power system and run length.
| Voltage | Best Use |
|---|---|
| DC 5 V | Compact electronics, battery-powered products, and very short runs. Evaluate separately for voltage drop and run length. |
| DC 12 V | Short furniture and cabinet runs, or systems already built on 12 V. |
| DC 24 V | Longer runs with less voltage drop. Confirm maximum feed length for the selected strip. |
Estimated Output per Meter
Calculated from rated power × efficacy.
| Model | Estimated Output |
|---|---|
| 3 mm, 5 W/m | approx. 300–450 lm/m |
| 4 mm, 6 W/m | approx. 480–540 lm/m |
| 5 mm, 7 W/m | approx. 560–630 lm/m |
Actual output varies with color temperature, thermal conditions, diffuser, and power supply.
Important note: Ultra narrow strips are designed for accent, display, and detail lighting. A narrow PCB limits circuit area and heat dissipation, so power and total output are lower than wider strips. If the strip is the main light source for a space, choose an 8 mm or 10 mm series instead.
For Installation
Check these points before you finalize the specification.
- Confirm the maximum recommended feed length for your voltage.
- Size cables for the total load and run length.
- Specify a power supply with suitable headroom above the total wattage.
- Use an aluminum profile where possible for heat control and protection.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the narrowest COB LED strip in this range?
The narrowest version uses a 3 mm PCB. It is available in selected configurations at these input voltages:
- DC 5 V
- DC 12 V
- DC 24 V
Cut lengths start from 12.5 mm.
Does a narrower strip produce less light?
Usually, yes. A narrow PCB has less circuit area and less room for heat dissipation, so it runs at lower power. In this range, power is 5–7 W/m.
Actual output also depends on efficacy, installation, diffuser, and thermal management.
Can ultra narrow COB strips be installed without an aluminum profile?
It depends on power, ambient temperature, mounting surface, and warranty terms.
We recommend an aluminum profile in most cases. It improves heat dissipation, protects the strip, and gives a cleaner finished line of light.
